Jeep JKU Gas Tank Skid Plate Replacement

The Gas Tank Skid plate is a little rusty after 150,000+ miles. Time for a replacement.

All the reachable bolts were able to be moved, so once the getting the old plate off should not be too much of an issue.

There are a few videos out there on how to replace the skid plate and each uses a different means to prop up the fuel tank.

The replacement can be purchased from a number of places, the price varies wildly.

Disconnecting and dropping the tank is quite the experience. The 18mm bolts were easy enough to remove, but the filler tube and other connectors were not so easy to access.

Lots of other have a broken eval line connector. The consensus seems to put a stim inside the connector and epoxy it together. That will solve the problem.
